Robin Williams Passes Away

Robin Williams

One of the greatest comics of our times has passed away from an apparent suicide.  We are heartbroken at the shocking death of Robin Williams at the age of 63.  He was a generous, charitable, funny soul, who battles his own demons with depression and this time the pain may have been to great for even the greatest men to bear.

He was found in his home, unresponsive, unconscious.  He was last seen alive at 10:00 P.M. Sunday night.  He has struggled with cocaine and alcohol abuse in the 80's and had been to rehab just recently.  He has openly talked about his addictions and problems.

Robin has so many movies and quotes to remember him from, it would take another post to go into them all,  Many probably remember him for his role in Mork & Mindy, movies Jamanji, Mrs. Doubtfire, and many many more.  He had a heart-warming way to draw you in and an undeniable way to make you laugh.

President Obama made a comment about Robin.  He said:

"He made us laugh. He made us cry. He gave his immeasurable talent freely and generously to those who needed it most — from our troops stationed abroad to the marginalized on our own streets." "He arrived in our lives as an alien — but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit."

Robin had a God-given mystical talent to make you laugh, make you cry, and make you love him.  He radiated happiness and we are so sorry that sometimes depression can become to much to bear.  May he rest in piece and be remembered for the joy and happiness he gave to the world!  Comment Below!!!!

Beverly Johnson Vogue

Beverly Johnson

Supermodel Beverly Johnson first graced the cover of Vogue 40 years ago this coming August and fashion has come a long way since then.  Johnson spoke with WWD about the iconic cover and diversity in the fashion world today.  The gorgeous model spoke about being told by Eileen Ford that she would never be on the cover of Vogue, which prompted her to make the move to Wilhelmina.

One day after doing a Vogue beauty shoot she got a call from Wilhelmina Cooper informing her she got the cover for the August 1974 edition.  This, in essence, catapulted her as a fashion model and started more opportunities for women of color.  She als didn't hold back on speaking about today's lack of women of color in the fashion business. She said:

“Sometimes we live in this very elitist bubble called the fashion industry,” Johnson said. “We have become really oblivious to what’s going on in the world.” Johnson also points out that she along with Naomi Campbell, Iman and BethAnn Hardison will keep a sharp eye out on the number of models of color that appear on the runways during fashion weeks.
